Position Summary:

Respond to God’s call to serve college students in ministry. Model and inspire a commitment to discipleship in faith by accompanying undergraduate students to foster spiritual growth, vocation discernment, faith formation, catechesis, faith-based justice education and more. Apply your passion for building and supporting the faith community in an inclusive Catholic and Marianist environment. The University of Dayton Campus Ministry seeks to welcome new members to our dynamic ministry team.

This campus minister has a particular focus on ministerial outreach to and accompaniment of first year students in faith as part of the Faith Formation and Spiritual Accompaniment team in Campus Ministry (NOT a live-in role). Initiates opportunities for spiritual growth; engages in evangelization and outreach; creates opportunities for catechesis, faith formation, faith-based justice education, and religious literacy; coordinates weekly liturgy; builds faith communities; and develops student leadership in ministry in a residential area. Ministry development may include Christ-centered outreach initiatives, faith sharing/scripture study groups, faith-based educational opportunities, prayer/reflection and other creative faith/relationship building programs. Includes connection to and support of housing staff to foster the Catholic and Marianist charism, and to support pastoral care of individual students and communities within residential areas.
This campus minister plans and implements the Callings program for incoming first year students, from student leader selection and formation, to implementation of Callings, to connecting Callings participants to active engagement within the breadth of Campus Ministry.
Supervises and collaborates with a graduate assistant in ministry. Reaches out to a diverse student body with cultural awareness and responsiveness. Participates as an active member of the campus ministry team and embodies a commitment to Catholic and Marianist ideals while cultivating the faith life of the campus community through transformative encounters with God.
