Position Summary:

The Assistant Director of Marianist Strategies creates, develops, and executes programs and processes that educate, form, and enrich faculty, staff, and students in the Marianist charism. The Assistant Director will lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of current and new Marianist heritage events and a comprehensive communication plan to increase awareness and appreciation for our Marianist charism and build a culture of Marianist encounter and hospitality on campus. This includes responding to needs from campus units and departments and new employees who seek training and knowledge about how their work connects with our Marianist charism and implementing a vision for our social media accounts and online presence. The Assistant Director will also lead and coordinate the Mission Based Staff Retreat and Marianist Awards, including the Marianist Service Award and Maureen E. O’Rourke Marianist Student Award. Finally, the Assistant Director will collaborate with Campus Ministry to coordinate Sophomore Faith Housing and will work alongside the team in the Office for Mission and Rector to support and refine Marianist Family Spaghetti Dinners.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor Degree
- Deep understanding and interest in the Catholic and Marianist mission of UD
- Ability to incorporate a working knowledge of Marianist traditions and their implications for the University today and in the future
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong ability and willingness to work with the campus community while collaborating effectively with appropriate entities on campus
- Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff and students including verbal, written, and electronic means
- Ability to create and implement successful mission- based initiatives
- A Roman Catholic in good standing who exhibits public conduct and ministry practices that are reflective of the teaching of the Catholic Church
- Valid driver’s license with low risk driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

- Master degree in pastoral ministry/theology/educational administration or related field
- Technology skills to incorporate content and visual design into publicity and social media
- Evidence of applying acquired knowledge of Marianist mission to the University or pastoral setting
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate to internal and external community while representing our mission and identity
- Ability to motivate members of the UD community with respect to both the Catholic and Marianist characteristics of the University
- Strong background in Marianist history, traditions and future planning
