| Position Summary: |
As a Lifeguard, you will be proficient in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid providing a safe environment in the Aquatic Center at the RecPlex.
Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies Able to perform rescues per American Red Cross standards Active scanning and involvement during shift Maintain a clean aquatic center Testing chemicals (pH and chlorine) Attending mandatory in-services once a month to practice and improve lifeguard skills
Description of duties: RESPONSIBILITIES Attend all mandatory trainings, in-services, and other meetings as shared. Maintain a working knowledge of UDCR aquatic facility characteristics, rules, policies, and procedures. Come dressed according to uniform code with professional appearance. Ensure a safe environment with undivided attention on participants at all times. Know, follow, and enforce all rules of the aquatics area consistently. Follow protocol set forth for securing subs to cover a shift. Communicate with the supervisor by checking email and group me daily and responding in a timely fashion. Keep supervisor up-to-date on all schedule changes and equipment damages. Keep all certifications current.

| Minimum Qualifications: |
American Red Cross Lifeguard with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification currently valid or similar certification from another nationally recognized organization like StarGuard. Leadership and strong communication skills.
