The Senior Academic Technologist is an experienced leader within UDit’s Academic Technologies team, dedicated to transforming teaching and learning through innovative technology integration. This role collaborates with faculty, academic units, and key centers to design state-of-the-art learning environments and develop scalable solutions that align with the university's commitment to academic excellence. By bridging technology and pedagogy, the Senior Academic Technologist plays a pivotal role in fostering an inclusive, engaging, and forward-thinking academic community. By enhancing the technological capabilities of our learning environments, the Senior Academic Technologist directly contributes to student success and the university's mission to provide exceptional educational experiences.

This position reports to the Senior Director of Academic Technologies and will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including classroom support, instructional designers, and infrastructure & AV systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Information Systems, or a related field.
3 years of experience in academic technology integration within higher education.
Proficiency with emerging technologies (VR/AR, AI integration) and advanced classroom hardware.
Strong understanding of pedagogical strategies and instructional design principles.
Excellent collaboration skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Master’s degree or higher in a related field.
5+ years of experience in academic technology integration within higher education.
Experience with high-flex classroom design and flexible learning spaces.
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and online learning platforms.
Proven track record of developing and delivering faculty training programs.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive teaching practices.
Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities.
