Position Summary:

The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the Public Safety Office Manager, the Director of Parking Services, the Police Major and Assistant Chief of Police. The position will serve as the primary gatekeeper for the front door, duties will include performing administrative functions such as preparing correspondence, budget management, billing accounts, background checks, entering students into the University conduct system,and managing special projects and any other duties as assigned. The administrative assistant would relieve these staff members of routine daily tasks and assist in continually improving processes and functions and providing quality service to guests of the Department of Public Safety

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Successful experience with customer service.
Strong proven organizational and analytical skills.
Successful experience making decisions and independently resolving problems.
Effective written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience handling multiple tasks simultaneously and handling confidential information with discretion.
Proven experience as a team player. Successful experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Bachelor’s Degree.
Two years experience in providing secretarial/administrative support in increasingly demanding positions.
Professional demeanor; initiator, ability to maintain confidentiality.
