Position Summary:

Are you interested in working for UDRI, a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers? Our Sensor & Software Systems Division invites qualified candidates to apply for our Associate Data Scientist opening!

- Support government and commercial customers with data analysis and visualization tasks using statistical methods to identify correlations, key features, and trends in datasets.
- Support machine learning solutions through data preprocessing, feature extraction, statistical analysis, and data visualization.
- Create software programs and scripts to perform data analytics and preprocessing tasks. Leverage languages such as Python.
- Create software programs to perform machine learning, statistical analysis, and create data driven models.
- Leverage tools and frameworks for statistical analysis and machine learning including TensorFlow, Keras, Sci-Kit Learn.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field
- 6+ months experience using Python for data science and/or machine learning applications
- Experience with Agile software development
- Experience with Python ML libraries, especially TensorFlow
- Software application development with PHP and java script frameworks (Vue, Alpine, etc.)
- Software application development with the Python Plotly/Dash library
- Experience working with Air Force equipment and/or maintenance data
- Experience implementing and training ML models for sequence forecasting including LSTM networks and transformer models
- Experience interfacing with databases such as MySQL and SQLite
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be U.S. Citizens

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

- Experience developing GUIs and dashboards for data visualization
- Experience using machine learning toolkits such as TensorFlow, Keras, Sci-Kit Learn
- Experience developing predictive algorithms, machine learning, and computer vision solutions
- Demonstrated experience effectively collaborating with a technical team
