Position Summary:

The University of Dayton's Bombeck Center is seeking qualified applicants to apply for our Nutrition Assistant opening! This is a full time benefit eligible position that offers health, dental and vision insurance, retirement, disability, tuition assistance for you and your dependents, vacation/sick accrual and holiday pay.

The Nutrition Assistant is responsible for supporting the Nutrition Specialist to prepare and disperse nutritious meals for the children, ages 5 weeks to 6 years, who attend the Bombeck Center. This also includes abiding by the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and ODJFS licensing food safety requirements. This position will work with the Nutrition Specialist to maintain a clean and organized kitchen, storage area and laundry and will assist the center staff in closing the center.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to organize and efficiently prepare food, maintain kitchen and do laundry
Maintain a positive working relationship with other staff members

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

1 year experience as a Nutrition Assistant or cook
Knowledge of nutritional requirements for children 6 weeks through 6 years
Knowledge of CACFP Program
Effective written and verbal communication skills
