Position Summary: UDRI is looking for a Reinforcement Learning Engineer to join the SPIRE group. You will contribute to a growing team responsible for cutting-edge technology and enhancing artificial intelligence (AI), autonomy and data exploitation capabilities and effectiveness. An ideal candidate for this role will be excited at the prospect of implementing state of the art AI and machine learning techniques, with a focus on reinforcement learning, to reveal new insights and research new applications.
Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree
2. Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen
3. Successful professional experience programming in Python or other similar language
4. Knowledge of data structures
5. Enthusiastic, motived, self-starting individual with a willingness to learn new skills
6. Understanding and experience with current Air Force R&D efforts in the area of Artificial Intelligence, Autonomy and Machine Learning
7. Understanding of Reinforcement Learning (RL) algorithms and techniques
8. Minimum of 3 years directly related work experience (R2) or 8 years directly related work experience (R3)

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

1. Master's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
2. Demonstrated, effective interpersonal skills
3. Active US SECRET (or higher) clearance
4. Professional experience with:
-- 4.1. Machine/Deep learning techniques
-- 4.2. Reinforcement learning techniques
-- 4.3. Novel algorithm development
-- 4.4. Safe Autonomy/AI
-- 4.5. Communication/coordination between multiple AI agents
-- 4.6. Pytorch, Tensorflow or other similar framework
5. Source code version control systems such as Git, Subversion, or similar
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills
