Position Summary:

Are you looking for an opportunity to take your career to new heights? The University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) is seeking a talented and driven Senior Corrosion Testing Lab Tech to join our team in Warner Robins, GA. 

Selected candidates will support research, development, and integration of new corrosion prevention materials and processes on USAF aerospace systems and ground support equipment. Duties include preparing metal and composite specimens, including machining, marking, surface preparation, pretreatment, coating application, and data tracking. Coating application may include various liquid, powder, and electrodeposition methods. The ability to properly prepare and spray liquid coatings in accordance with USAF technical data is essential.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Eight years directly relevant experience in US Air Force coating or corrosion applications.
Ability to use USAF corrosion control equipment such as paint booth and blasting cabinets.
Familiarity with applicable aerospace structural materials, corrosion and coatings test specifications, and military/commercial standards.
Experience processing corrosion and coatings specimens in accordance with test plans.
Experience mixing and spraying common military aircraft coating systems.
Proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with USAF technical orders 1-1-8, 1-1-691, 35-1-3.
Able to work under limited supervision.
Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen.
Ability to pass a National Agency Check within 1 year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Associate's degree in a related field or 12 or more years aircraft maintenance experience.
USAF aircraft structural maintenance experience.
Have aircraft corrosion control experience on USAF aircraft and support equipment.
Working knowledge of USAF organizational, intermediate, and depot corrosion and coating operations.
Support program experience preferred (haz-mat, haz-waste, RPP, etc).
Proficiency in MS SharePoint and Project.
