Position Summary: |
Do you have experience mentoring pre-service and in-service educators? We have an opportunity for you as a Director for the Lalanne Program at the University of Dayton! Lalanne is a post-graduate teacher service program offered through the Center for Catholic Education. This is a full time benefit eligible position that offers health, dental and vision insurance, retirement, disability, tuition assistance for you and your dependents, vacation/sick accrual and holiday pay.
The Lalanne Director is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the program and the ongoing formation and support of the Lalanne teachers. Additional duties include recruitment of Lalanne candidates; advising Lalanne teachers in their graduate programs of study; planning and implementing Lalanne events; both on and off-campus marketing of the Lalanne program, including social media and a bi-annual newsletter; establishing and maintaining relationships with School and Archdiocesan partners, as well as UD campus partners, Lalanne alumni and Lalanne donors; budget management; other administrative responsibilities as related to Lalanne.
This role also encompasses supporting the Department of Teacher Education in recruiting, mentoring, and academic advising pre-service teachers, coordination of the secondary Catholic Religion Education (7-12), supervision of student teachers as a university liaison, and contributing to the first-year student experience team within the department.

Minimum Qualifications: |
● Bachelor’s degree (education, theology, pastoral ministry or related) ● 1 year experience working in K-12 schools ● Successful experience mentoring pre-service and in-service educators ● Strong communication skills, both written and spoken ● Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality ● Ability to articulate and embrace the Marianist character of the University

Preferred Qualifications: |
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
● Master’s degree (education, theology, pastoral ministry) ● 1 year teaching experience working in K-12 schools ● Volunteer or service experience ● Catholic school experience with understanding of the morality clause ● Urban/rural school experience ● Experience with event planning and budgeting ● Experience leading retreats ● Supervision experience ● Recruitment experience ● Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite ● Appropriate and effective use of social media ● Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities
