Position Summary:

**Seeking an Exceptional Senior Force Development Specialist** Are you a seasoned professional with a passion for driving organizational excellence and shaping the future workforce? As a Senior Force Development Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the trajectory of our organization's human capital. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and implementing comprehensive training programs, fostering continuous learning, and nurturing the growth of our talented workforce.

Location: Air Force Nondestructive Inspection Office (AFNDIO) at Tinker AFB, OK (Telework may be situationally approved by the customer).

The AFNDIO is seeking a Nondestructive Inspection (NDI) Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a technical support role. The selected candidate will serve as a SME in aerospace systems NDI and aircraft maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide expertise in developing, planning, coordinating, maintaining, and executing training curriculum for the AFNDIO.
• Address training requirements and gaps by developing and implementing comprehensive training plans and programs tailored to meet identified needs.
• Coordinate with customers to ensure alignment of training programs with their objectives.
• Manage responses effectively to support the delivery and implementation of training programs.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Stay updated with industry trends and developments to ensure that training programs remain relevant and effective.
• Develop curriculum for NDI laboratory management and the five traditional NDI methods: penetrant, magnetic particle, eddy current, ultrasonic, and radiography.
• Create training aids, structured training plans, and supporting documents to support the developed curriculum and enhance on-the-job training for the customer’s field users.
• Establish and maintain a system for advertising, scheduling, and tracking student attendance, course completion, and grades.
• Prepare AFNDIO laboratory and classroom for courses taught.
• Provide consultation as a subject matter expert on technical manual revisions, including reviewing, editing, and contributing to Technical Order (TO) updates.
• Serve as the SME for NDI facility requirements according to the Unified Facility Criteria (UFC) and sister service orders.
• Review, update, and improve materials and processes related to NDI, including MIL-SPEC, Handbooks, and other standards.
• Offer SME consultation to customer on various NDI and field-related topics.
• Support Executive and Working Group meetings by developing and delivering training sessions on laboratory management and nondestructive inspection topics, and brief best practices and emerging trends in nondestructive inspection.
• Assist with Probability of Detection (POD) Studies, procedural validation and verification of new or updated TO procedures, and first article inspections, and other technical evaluations during site visits.

Ideal Candidate:
• Experience developing training curriculum and/or aids for nondestructive inspection applications.
• Experience as an instructor or presenting technical information relevant to the position.
• Experience interacting with civilian and government personnel, contractors, and interpreting and applying guidelines and requirements.
• Prior military service or DoD civilian experience, particularly with the U.S. Air Force.

This position demands a high level of expertise to promptly and credibly address technical questions from the field, program offices, and Air Logistic Complexes regarding nondestructive evaluation, inspection, and testing.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of six years of experience, OR a Master’s degree with a minimum of five years of experience, OR 15 years of experience in the field of Nondestructive Inspection (NDI), having previously held Level 2 or Level 3 certification(s) in accordance with NAS 410, ASNT, SNT-TC-1A (or equivalent).
• 3+ years of experience managing an Air Force field NDI laboratory, serving in roles such as NCOIC, Section Chief, or Lab Supervisor.
• Extensive knowledge in nondestructive inspection methods, techniques, facilities, and equipment requirements and practices.
• Ability to attain Level 3 certification in the following NDI methods: penetrant, magnetic particle, eddy current, ultrasonic, and radiography.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with impeccable judgment.
• Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Ability to obtain a secret clearance within one year of hire.
• Willingness to travel up to 60 days a year.
• Valid drivers license with low risk driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• 3+ years’ experience working in the AFNDIO.
• Documented hours that meet or exceed NAS 410 Level 2 formal training and experience requirements in the five traditional methods (penetrant, magnetic particle, eddy current, ultrasonic, and radiography).
• Strong ability to research, analyze interpret, and apply rules, regulations and procedures effectively.
• Proven experience interacting with government personnel and contractors.
• Experience working with Air Force personnel and training systems.
• Demonstrated self-starter with a vision to innovate and think outside the box.
