The Assistant Director, Flyer Student Services provides leadership within the office by providing ongoing training and development to the Flyer Student Services team. This training and development includes responsibility for the development and maintenance of all materials within the knowledge hub, holding training sessions for new and existing staff to ensure a comprehensive understanding of all services offered. This staff member provides student service for the integrated functions of financial aid, registrar, student accounts, and support for other offices on campus through various communication channels (phone, email, in-person, live-chat, etc.)
The Assistant Director, Flyer Students Services will be an innovative thinker as the climate surrounding higher education becomes increasingly complex, and student service needs constantly evolve. The Assistant Director is a member of the FSS leadership team. The Assistant Director provides leadership within the office by providing ongoing training and development to the Flyer Student Services team. This training and development includes responsibility for the development and maintenance of all materials within the knowledge hub, holding training sessions for new and existing staff to ensure a comprehensive understanding of all services offered. This role will be involved with special projects that enhance daily operations and equitable service. This position requires an in-depth knowledge of all service areas of Flyer Student Services, as well as the ability to collaborate with Flyer Student Services Counselors, home office leadership, and liaisons on more complex issues or account updates. The Assistant Director will identify, recommend, and implement changes that improve service and positively impact retention. This individual is expected to use problem solving skills on a daily basis and to maintain strong collaborative relationships for fulfilling the duties of the position. The Assistant Director will report to the Executive Director of Flyer Student Services.

* Master’s degree in related field * Progressive leadership within an office including delivery of training to other team members * Experience working as part of, or in association with, a one-stop student service center within a university; minimum one year of experience * Experience working in higher education * Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with families and students of diverse backgrounds * Strong customer-oriented approach and the demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with families and students of diverse backgrounds * Demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with a variety of constituents and evidence of strong interpersonal skills * Ability to work with staff, students and families in a manner consistent with Catholic and Marianist values and principles
