The University of Dayton, a top-tier Catholic research institution, is seeking an exceptional Director of Career Services to join its esteemed School of Law division. As the Director of Career Services, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our law students and alumni. Your primary responsibilities will include developing and implementing comprehensive career development programs, fostering strong relationships with employers and legal professionals, and providing individualized guidance and support to students and alumni as they navigate their career paths.
The Career Services Director provides leadership directly to the Career Services Office (CSO) staff in order to effectively deliver career counseling services to approximately 600 J.D., LL.M., and M.S.L. students. The Director will actively develop and maintain strong relationships with regional legal employers, establish innovative and effective methods to assist students in securing employment in rapidly changing legal markets, implement a full range of educational programs for students, cutting across legal practice areas, settings, and geographical markets, provide a wide array of career skills workshops, (e.g., addressing interviewing skills, drafting resumes and cover letters, and effective networking, among other topics), provide individual career counseling sessions that address each student’s interests, skills and experience, maintain accurate and thorough records for data reporting and analysis purposes, and meet with prospective students to discuss CSO’s unique approach to meeting all students’ career-related needs. The successful candidate will have exceptional interpersonal, organizational, communication, and management skills.

• Master’s degree in related field • Juris Doctor degree • Previous experience working with students in higher education • Prior legal placement, counseling or legal recruiting experience • Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities • Ability to promote inclusive excellence in the workplace
