The University of Dayton, a top-tier Catholic research university, is seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Women's Softball Coach to join our dynamic Athletics division. As an Assistant Women's Softball Coach, you'll play a vital role in fostering a positive team culture, engage in team operations and mentoring our talented student-athletes.
The assistant softball coach will assist the head coach in all aspects of the softball program. The assistant coach will primarily instruct, train and coach student-athletes about the sport, game and skills required and will specifically implement an offensive development program in accordance with the philosophy of the head coach. This position also assists in recruiting quality student-athletes for this highly competitive program and will assist the head coach in leadership on matters such as team composition, competition strategies and peak performance. The assistant coach will engage in team operations, including travel arrangements and video needs and will perform additional duties related to coaching (e.g., compliance education, budget management, equipment procurement, and other duties as assigned by head coach). The assistant coach will guide student-athletes for purposes of academic, social development, compliance requirements and safety and health considerations.
University of Dayton Athletics employees are expected to comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations governing the University, the NCAA and the Atlantic 10 Conference. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate expertise in all aspects of coaching student-athletes and demonstrate a commitment to the highest ideals of leadership, sportsmanship and academics with demonstrated and successful experience working with people from diverse backgrounds. This is a full time, 12 month position with benefits. This position will require some evening, weekend and holiday work.

Minimum Qualifications: |
Bachelor's Degree College softball or baseball playing experience Experience in recruiting qualified student-athletes Excellent written communication skills Able to work flexible hours including many evenings, weekends and some holidays Possess a valid driver's license, have a low risk driving record and insurable by the university

Master's Degree College softball coaching experience Strong technical knowledge of collegiate women's softball Strong technical ability in hitting instruction and video analysis Demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills, organizational/administrative skills, Demonstrate good working knowledge of and a personal commitment to adhering to institutional, conference and NCAA policy, rules and regulations
