This position will support advanced manufacturing programs for aircraft sustainment activities. This role will support repair through advanced manufacturing processes including part/repair setup, cold spray deposit, generation, testing, and equipment operation and maintenance. The successful candidate will understand cold spray, DED, Friction Stir, Plasma Spray, Additive Manufacturing, and/or other advanced manufacturing processes. The position will assist with design, manufacturing, and test/validation of hardware/procedures for cold spray repair technologies. The successful candidate may assist an engineer or scientist with cold spray techniques, other repair techniques, and/or additive manufacturing, and will provide guidance on design for manufacturability, equipment and part set up, and part processing. This technician will assist with tool tracking/control process in and around the booth as well as facility modifications. Technicians will potentially contribute to pre- and post-machining of samples and parts. The majority of work will support government customers, with some industry and academic partners being supported as well.

Minimum Qualifications:

T3:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 5 years of troubleshooting/repair, material testing, machining, or related technical experience.
• Formal technical training beyond high school can be substituted for two years of related experience.
• Knowledge of recording and reporting repair or system issues.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting and repair procedures.
• Proficient at routine and advanced technical functions in support of a research activity with little to no supervision.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Products
• A minimum of eight years of related technical experience is required at the T3 level.
• Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen.

T4:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 12 years of troubleshooting/repair, material testing, machining, or related technical experience.
• Formal technical training beyond high school can be substituted for two years of related experience.
• Experience with recording and reporting repair or system issues.
• Experience with troubleshooting and repair procedures.
• Proficient at routine and advanced technical functions in support of a research activity with little to no supervision.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Products
• Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

T3:
• 5 years experience with cold spray, thermal spray, DED, friction stir, and/or plasma spray
• Experience recording and reporting repair and/or system issues.
• Experience troubleshooting and repair procedures.
• Knowledge of quality standards (e.g. ISO9001).
• Experience using Microsoft Office Products.

T4:
• Associates degree in a related technical field.
• 7 years experience with cold spray, thermal spray, DED, friction stir, and/or plasma spray.
• Experience with quality standards (e.g. ISO9001, AS9100).
• Knowledge of cold spray processes and testing requirements (Adhesion, Microscopy, etc.).
• Knowledge of metal mechanical testing.
• Experience assembling and disassembling complex systems for repair.
• Capable of modeling fixturing utilizing CAD/CAM software (i.e. Solidworks).
• Ability to use slicing programs such as Adaaxis.
• Experience training and providing guidance to junior personnel.
