UDRI is looking for an Associate Natural Language Processing Engineer to join the SPIRE group. You will contribute to a growing team responsible for cutting-edge technology and enhancing artificial intelligence, autonomy and data exploitation capabilities and effectiveness. An ideal candidate for this role will be excited at the prospect of implementing state of the art natural language processing and generative artificial intelligence techniques to reveal new insights and research new applications. Minimum Qualifications: |
1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science 2. Successful professional experience programming in Python 3. Knowledge of data structures 4. Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques such as tokenization, embeddings and information extraction 5. Experience with the Installation, configuration, and testing of integrated LLM/RAG/KG/database software stacks including Morphik 6. Understanding and experience with current Air Force R&D efforts in the areas of NLP, LLM and related tools and capabilities 7. Enthusiastic, motived, self-starting individual with a willingness to learn new skills 8. Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
1. Demonstrated, effective interpersonal skills 2. Active US SECRET (or higher) clearance 3. Academic or Professional experience with: -- 3.1. Machine/Deep learning techniques -- 3.2. Data management/curation, analysis, processing and exploitation -- 3.3. Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLM) such as GPT and open-source equivalents --3.4. Advanced optical character recognition (OCR) software including Unstructured and Colpali 4. Source code version control systems such as Git, Subversion, or similar 5. Strong written and verbal communication skills
