The primary responsibilities of the AI Solutions Specialist include the development, administration, and support of AI applications—most notably FlyerGPT, our secure enterprise generative AI platform. This role will focus on integrating AI solutions into the University of Dayton’s systems by managing technical workflows, facilitating collaborative solutions development, and analyzing business requirements. The candidate will work closely with faculty, staff, students, and other IT professionals to design, implement, and maintain innovative AI-driven solutions that enhance academic and administrative processes.
This position requires strong technical capabilities, a good understanding of low-code programming and API/web technology integration, excellent problem-solving skills, and outstanding customer service abilities. The role may also include mentoring colleagues and assisting in training initiatives, though the primary focus remains on AI solutions development and systems management.

Minimum Qualifications: |
5 years of experience in application support, administration, or equivalent hands-on experience with technical systems. Proven experience with complex application design and implementation. 5 years in a customer support role demonstrating exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills. Exposure with API integrations and modern web technologies. Understanding of low-code programming principles and practices. Exceptional communication skills and a strong team orientation.

Preferred Qualifications: |
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. At least 7 years of IT experience managing technical applications, with an emphasis on innovative technologies. Experience in higher education IT environments. Familiarity with IT service delivery frameworks such as ITIL. Prior experience managing generative AI applications or enterprise AI platforms. Commitment to inclusive excellence that aligns to the University's Catholic and Marianist mission. Experience in IT training or mentorship is a plus.
