Position Summary:

Are you looking for a role where you can combine communication, creativity, and technology to make a difference? Join the University of Dayton as a Digital Experience and Support Specialist, where you’ll manage web content tools, support the University’s content management and intranet systems, and provide training and guidance to campus web contributors. In this role, you’ll help ensure our digital spaces are accessible, consistent, and engaging—creating meaningful online experiences that connect and support the UD community.

The Digital Experience and Support Specialist plays a key role in supporting and enhancing the University of Dayton’s digital presence. This position manages campus-wide web content tools, develops and distributes general campus communications, and provides training and guidance to web content managers. In addition to ensuring compliance with web accessibility standards, the Digital Experience and Support Specialist delivers technical support, supports the campus content management system (Cascade) and the University’s intranet (Porches), and serves as a central point of contact for communicating system updates, changes, and best practices. This position helps team members by managing or leading IT training and keeping IT-related information current and accurate. By combining communication, training, and technical expertise, this role helps create a consistent, user-friendly, and accessible online experience for the UD community.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of relevant experience
Strong understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG, World Wide Web Consortium)
Prior experience writing for online audiences
Knowledge of website user experience principles
Experience using a content management system (CMS)
Ability to train others on web accessibility, content creation, and CMS use
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to re-evaluate and re-prioritize projects quickly
Strong attention to detail
Reliable and supportive team player
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Familiarity with Cascade (CMS)
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Visual Communication Design, Marketing, Communications, or Management Information Systems
Knowledge of HTML
Previous experience managing websites and content design
Previous higher education work experience
ITIL Foundations certification and demonstrated practical application
Knowledge of and sensitivity to a Catholic Marianist work environment
