Position Summary:

The S&R division's Advanced Manufacturing Group collaborates across Ohio, Georgia and all other customer locations throughout the Air Force’s network of bases. The team’s efforts support AFLCMC contracts as well as other government and industry sponsored projects.

The Process Engineering team executes material development, process development and engineering projects supporting technologies including technical projects both polymer and metal additive manufacturing, post-process machining, heat treatment, sheet-metal forming and other processes as needed to support customer requirements. The Advanced Manufacturing Process Engineering Team focuses on specifying, installing, qualifying, training, and operating new and legacy equipment.

The Team Lead is responsible for ensuring the use of sound engineering practices and deliverables within required timelines, while maintaining ISO 9001 certification, supporting pursuit of AS9100 certification for selected special processes at UDRI’s Integrated Technologies and Operations Center (ITOC) in Kettering that meet all internal, customer, and contractual requirements. The team leader is responsible for the management of the Process Engineer Employee team and operates concurrently with leadership vision and mission. This is an on-site position.

Minimum Qualifications:

R2 minimum qualifications:
• Minimum bachelor’s degree and min of 7 years of directly related experience.
• Ability to lead and coordinate the activities of a team relative to capability, organization, or projects.
• Interpersonal and effective communication skills (both verbal and written) at all levels of the organization.
• Attention to detail and ability to review technical documents for correctness and accuracy.
• Ability to ensure a team’s adherence to organizational and quality management system policies and procedures, as well as alignment with current and emerging industry standards and best practices as appropriate.
• Experience working in a manufacturing setting and familiarity with a variety of manufacturing processes.
• Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen.

R3 minimum requirements include all of those listed for R2 as well as:
• Minimum bachelor’s degree and min 12 years of directly related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• Prior leadership experience.
