The Sourcing Director acts as the sourcing expert for the procurement for new sourcing as well as reviewing sourcing of current supply chains. This position will report through the University Procurement team and will serve the campus community to evaluate strategic sourcing opportunities. This Procurement and Payable Services team strives to implement best in class supplier relationships and agreements that provide tangible benefits and value to the University. The Sourcing Director must be experienced working in a work environment where they must manage multiple projects concurrently. In addition, this position will supervise 1-3 procurement professionals. The Sourcing Director must be able to lead with a player-coach style. This individual will oversee daily purchasing approvals within the University’s e-procurement tool, issue resolution, identifying ways to improve procurement practices, owns customer service metrics and is capable of representing the University with written articles, presentations on campus and externally and actively participate in a variety of professional organizations. This position will report to the executive director of Procurement and Payable Services and will serve the campus community to evaluate strategic sourcing opportunities. In addition, this position will include supervisory responsibilities for procurement professionals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration or related field OR a combination of education, training and experience that equates to the required degree.
5 years of progressively responsible experience in management, procurement, sales, or supply chain management, demonstrating a track record of increasing responsibilities and achievements.
Strong analytical, organizational and negotiation skills.
Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of constituents within and outside the university.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Effective excellent customer service skills.
Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Master's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field.
5+ or more years progressive procurement experience.
Successful demonstration of verbal communication skills with various constituencies including presentation forums.
Experience with Supplier Diversity programs and developing relationships with community partners.
Demonstrated management experience.
Demonstrated experience with Banner and Jaggaer eProcurement.
Experience working with social and culturally diverse communities.
