Position Summary:

The Admission Counselor provides responsive service to prospective students and families and guides them through the admission, financial aid, and enrollment process at the University of Dayton. Reporting to the Director of Recruitment and Admission, the Admission Counselor will advise students and families from all recruitment channels about the admission, scholarship and financial aid process through group presentations, individual interviews, phone and email communication. This position manages an assigned recruitment territory and will communicate and build relationships with students, parents, high school counselors, community based organizations, and other constituents. Responsibilities include developing and implementing a recruitment strategy for the assigned territory by reviewing and analyzing data.
This position will review admission applications and make appropriate admission decisions for all recruitment channels. High energy and flexibility are necessary for this position as there is significant overnight travel as well as evening and weekend work.
Finally, the Admission Counselor is expected to actively develop self-awareness around issues of diversity and inclusion as we become an anti-racist university.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required.
Two years progressive experience in higher education, high school counseling, or other work involving attention to detail, public speaking, and personal interaction.
The successful candidate must be self motivated and have the ability to work independently.
Excellent communication, public speaking and relationship management skills.
Knowledge of and appreciation for Catholic and Marianist values and principles of education.
Valid driver's license with low risk driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Knowledge and experience with Ellucian Banner software, Salesforce, and Target X CRM.
Demonstrated experience working with families and students of diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrated experience arriving at solutions.
