Position Summary: This position reports to the head women's basketball coach and will assist in all facets of operating an accomplished Division I women's basketball program. This position will also teach at least one course per academic year. Basketball duties include instruct, train and coach women student-athletes about the collegiate game and skills development, instruct student-athletes for purposes of academic, social development, compliance requirements, and safety and health considerations, recruit quality student-athletes, assist the head coach in leadership in matters such as team composition, competition strategies and peak performance. The assistant coach/instructor will engage in team operations and may be asked to perform additional duties related to coaching (e.g., compliance education, budget management, equipment procurement, donor relations and other duties as assigned by head coach). Additionally, the assistant coach/instructor will be the offensive coordinator as well as the position coach for post players. This position will also be the mental health liaison and work with counselors and sports psychologists to better help the players and team as a whole. All University of Dayton Athletics employees are expected to comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations governing the University, the NCAA and the Atlantic 10 Conference. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a commitment to the highest ideals of leadership, sportsmanship and academics and have experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.
Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Sports Administration/Sports Management, Kinesiology or a related field or foreign education equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in coaching and recruiting successful basketball programs at the NCAA Division I level and commitment to leadership, sportsmanship and academics
- Demonstrated ability to comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations governing the NCAA and Atlantic 10 Conference
- Demonstrated classroom teaching experience at collegiate level
- Demonstrated experience as a previous Division I student-athlete
- Able to work flexible hours as well as many evenings, weekends and some holidays
- Occasional travel (less than 25%) to various locations where games/tournaments held
