Position Summary: Partner with researchers, guide compliance, and drive research success! The University Research Compliance and Post Award Specialist supports institution-wide research compliance programs and non-financial post award support by providing regulatory guidance, facilitating committee and administrative reviews, and helping investigators and research teams meet applicable federal, state, local, sponsor, and institutional requirements. This role serves as a primary liaison among faculty, staff, students, compliance committees, and campus partners, and contributes to training, facilitating subawards, secure management of compliance records and systems, and acts as a liaison between faculty and sponsors.
Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree OR five years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience: 2 or more years of relevant professional experience demonstrating the required knowledge/skills.
• Citizenship: Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain requirements to varied audiences with professionalism, tact, and discretion.
• Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive data.
• Proficiency with common business software (e.g., Microsoft Office/Google Workspace) and ability to learn electronic research administration systems and databases.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• Master’s degree.
• Working knowledge of research compliance principles and applicable regulations and federal and institutional policies (e.g., Uniform Guidance, human subjects protections/IRB, conflict of interest, export controls, research security).
• Experience with electronic protocol submission/review systems (e.g., Cayuse or similar) and data/reporting tools.
• Experience developing and delivering training (workshops, webinars, guidance documents, web content).
• Experience supporting research active faculty, staff and compliance committees (agenda/minutes, rosters, documentation).
• Experience in higher education and working collaboratively with various stakeholders across multiple units.
• Ability to promote inclusive excellence in the workplace.
