Position Summary: The Senior Research Engineer will be responsible for the design and implementation of novel thermal management architectures for aircraft, the formulation and communication of system test plans, guidance on effective and innovative control schemes, project management, and technical leadership to other engineers and technicians.
Minimum Qualifications:

Due to the nature of this position, U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a National Agency Check is required.

P2 Minimum:
• BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Controls Engineering.
• 10 years of experience with aerospace fluidic systems, such as: cooling loops, air cycle machines, vapor compression cycle machines, engine bleed, fuel distribution, engine performance, environmental controls, water separation, and turbomachinery.
• Project management fundamentals
• Experienced in the application of first principles and common sense guidelines toward designing and analyzing complex fluidic systems

P3 Minimum:
• BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Controls Engineering.
• 15 years of experience with aerospace fluidic systems, such as: cooling loops, air cycle machines, vapor compression cycle machines, engine bleed, fuel distribution, engine performance, environmental controls, water separation, and turbomachinery.
• Technical leadership experience leading junior engineers and technicians.
• Advanced project management skills with experience leading >$250k projects.
• Experienced in the application of first principles and common sense guidelines toward designing and analyzing complex fluidic systems

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrate all of the minimum requirements as well as:
• 20 years of aerospace engineering experience with emphasis on aircraft thermal management.
• Experience with two-phase flow of refrigerants.
• Graduate degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Controls Engineering.
• Experience leading both engineers and technicians, both technically and supervisory.
• Uses advanced design software to simulate thermodynamic cycles, preferably transient.
• Familiar with advanced control schemes.
