Position Summary: This position will provide direct education as it relates to alcohol and other drug issues and prevention education, manage and provide outreach, provide guidance to AOD student workers, and assist in helping to build a diverse collegiate recovery program. Oversight and support will be provided by the Assistant Director of Alcohol and Other Drugs Prevention Education. This is a 10-month position that will exclude the months of June and July.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in health education, public health/health promotion, counseling, social work, or other related field.
One year of demonstrated work experience in health promotion, alcohol and other drug education, counseling or other related field using evidenced-informed or best practices.
Demonstrated knowledge of Motivational Interviewing strategies and techniques
Demonstrated experience in successful presentations and outreach to large and small audiences.
Ability and willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
Must be willing to obtain and maintain a prevention certification within 1.5 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Public Health/Health Education, College Student Personnel, or other related field.
One year of demonstrated work experience in health promotion, alcohol and other drug education, counseling or other related field using evidenced-informed or best practices, preferably in an higher education environment.
Prevention certification
Knowledge of college specific substance use/misuse prevention
Demonstrated experience with collegiate recovery
Demonstrated experience with college-aged population
Demonstrated experience in working with people from diverse backgrounds
Knowledge of and sensitivity to a Catholic Marianist environment.
Proven effective written and oral communication skills (one-on-one and group).
