Position Summary: This position will support advanced manufacturing programs for sustainment activities. The position will serve as the lab technician for the machining and additive manufacturing labs, including part post processing such as manual machining, 5 axis milling, heat treating and wire EDM, equipment/lab maintenance, consumable and spare parts procurement, mentoring and leading younger or less skilled technicians, while adhering to lab and equipment guidelines. The successful candidate will understand machining and additive manufacturing techniques and provide guidance on design for manufacturability, equipment and part set up and part processing. The majority of work will support government customers, but some industry partners will be supported as well.
Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of 8 years of experience in conventional machining operations for metals (ie milling, turning, EDM etc...)

Demonstrated experience with operating numerical controlled equipment for complex geometries

Demonstrated experience with various CAD/CAM software packages

Attention to detail

Due to the nature of this position, US citizenship is required

Valid driver's license with low risk driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in conventional machining operations for metals

1+ years of experience in additive manufacturing

1+ years of experience in heat treat operations

Demonstrated experience with lab environments and adherence to lab policies & procedures

Experience in interacting with design engineers and other technical personnel Effective
