Position Summary: The Corrosion Testing Lab Technician will support research, development, and integration of new corrosion prevention materials and processes on USAF aerospace systems and ground support equipment. Duties include preparing metal and composite specimens, including machining, marking, surface preparation, pretreatment, coating application, and tracking. Coating application may include various liquid, powder, and electrodeposition methods. The ability to properly prepare and spray liquid coatings in accordance with USAF technical data is essential.
Minimum Qualifications:

T1 Minimum Qualification:

Experience in the application of aerospace coating applications or corrosion testing applications.

Familiar with applicable aerospace structural materials, corrosion and coatings test specifications, and military/commercial standards.

Familiarity with processing corrosion and coatings specimens in accordance with test plans.

Familiar with mixing and spraying common military aircraft coating systems to include hexavalent chromium primer.

Proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Due to the nature of this position, US citizenship is required.

Ability to pass a National Agency Check within 1 year of hire.

T2 Minimum Qualification:

Four years of direct relevant experience in aerospace coating applications or corrosion testing applications.

Demonstrated familiarity with applicable aerospace structural materials, corrosion and coatings test specifications, and military/commercial standards.

Proficient in processing corrosion and coatings specimens in accordance with test plans.

Must be proficient in mixing and spraying common military aircraft coating systems to include hexavalent chromium primer.

Proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

Six years of direct relevant experience in aerospace coating applications or corrosion testing applications.

Proficiency with applicable aerospace structural materials, corrosion, and coatings test specifications, and military/commercial standards.

Proficiency with lab equipment, processes, and procedures used by the UDRI applied corrosion group
