The Institute for Pastoral Initiatives is seeking an innovative and creative technology leader to administer and drive forward our e-learning platform and overall technical needs. This is your chance to contribute to a robust and evolving educational environment. Familiarity with Catholic faith formation and strong experience online learning is a significant plus. This position requires strong technical skills. The person in this position will be primarily responsible for maintaining and enhancing the e-learning course management system, implemented through a privately designed CMS/LMS. Primary knowledge of database and website development and administration, IS management, and tech support. Duties include: Overseeing MySQL database administration, optimization, and troubleshooting Managing the VLCFF e-learning platform, ensuring high availability and performance. Improving existing features and developing new features for e-learning. Ensuring online systems security compliance, and data integrity in coordination with the University’s IT group. Maintaining and developing the department website.

Minimum Qualifications: |
Bachelor’s of Science in Information Systems or related field OR 4 plus years of equivalent experience. Database management: Experience managing MySQL databases and writing queries. Web development: Strong proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, CSS, MySQL and HTML. Problem-solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively. Project management: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Ability and willingness to understand Catholic faith formation and online education.

Preferred Qualifications: |
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
Bachelor’s of Science in Information Systems or related field OR 7 plus years of equivalent experience. Familiarity with Hannon Hill Cascade CMS. Familiarity with API integrations, payment gateways, and third-party software. Knowledge of LMS systems and e-learning platforms. Experience in UI/UX design for improving user experience. Desire to embody Catholic and Marianist traditions exhibiting public conduct and ministerial practices reflective of the teachings of the Catholic Church. Ability to promote inclusive excellence in the workplace.
