Position Summary: Provide administrative and logistical support for Department of Music ensembles (nine large ensembles including bands, orchestra, choirs, and jazz ensembles) in their day-to-day operations, on- and off-campus performances, and travel. Provide support for faculty directors of ensembles; manage logistics for ensemble concerts on and off campus (transportation of students and equipment, coordination with off-campus venues, etc.); provide support for Pride of Dayton marching band operations, including August band camp; manage logistics for other departmental events, including annual state music education conference and special events such as Celebration of the Arts and Christmas Concert; coordinate department calendar; coordinate promotion of concerts and other public events; manage instrument inventory and oversee repair and maintenance of instruments and other equipment; oversee ensemble music libraries (purchase music as requested by directors; maintain database); supervise student workers (ensemble librarians and assistants; program coordinator; social media coordinator); provide support for Summer Performance Institutes for middle- and high-school students; work with office staff to provide welcoming personal, e-mail, and telephone reception to a wide constituency.
Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma
At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a professional or academic setting
Ability to draft documents independently and proof-read documents for errors.
Demonstrated ability to plan and organize work in observance of deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a cooperative member of an organization.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software (especially Excel and Word) and Google applications (Gmail, docs, sheets, drives, etc.) as used for preparing forms and maintaining correspondence, reports, and special projects.
Demonstrated or Articulated ability to manage multiple priorities.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
Demonstrated ability to work within established procedures and guidelines.
Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new information and systems.
Excellent written communication skills
Professional experience planning and coordinating events.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree
Demonstrated ability to engage effectively, respectfully, and professionally with multiple constituents at all levels in an organization, such as faculty members, staff, administration, students, parents, advisory council members, and university guests.
Expressed interest in Music
Demonstrated successful experience with event/conference planning and promotion
Experience working in a college or university academic office
Experience organizing and delegating work to student employees
Familiarity with University of Dayton academic structures, procedures, and policies
Experience with Google Suite
Knowledge of and sensitivity to Catholic and Marianist values
Experience with operations of music ensembles (bands, choirs, orchestras, etc.)
