Position Summary:

Are you interested in working for UDRI, a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers? UDRI's Power and Energy division invites qualified applicants to apply for our Events and Communications Coordinator opening!

The Events and Communications Coordinator is a junior role which will be responsible for coordinating, facilitating, supporting, and executing monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc events and associated web and social media promotion for a government-industry-academic collaboration under the supervision of a project manager, project analyst, or engineering leader. Job activities may include, but are not limited to:
• Interacting regularly with faculty, staff, and external customers
• Planning, coordinating, and executing up to one event per month in Dayton as required by clients
• Planning, coordinating, and executing up to one event per quarter in other areas of the continental United States as required by clients
• Establishing and managing online registration process for events as required
• Generating and maintaining website and social media advertising
• Developing presentation materials as required
• Attending meetings, training, conferences and workshops as appropriate to enhance job knowledge and skills to build relationships with partners and stakeholders
• Providing basic office administrative support as required
• Other duties as assigned
• Candidate must be willing to work nights and weekends as necessary

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in related field OR a High School diploma/GED with minimum of four years event coordination experience
• At least two years of experience in event planning/coordination
• Strong attention to detail
• Creative thinker and problem solver with positive outlook and comfort with fast paced, changing, customer service-oriented environment
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Due to the nature of this position, U.S. citizenship is required
• Ability to travel as required
• Valid driver's license with a low risk driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Minimum 3-4 years of experience in event planning/coordination
• Experience with event scheduling and management
• Demonstrated expertise in digital marketing and social media campaigns

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
