The Events and Communications Coordinator is a junior role which will be responsible for coordinating, facilitating, supporting, and executing monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc events and associated web and social media promotion for a government-industry-academic collaboration under the supervision of a project manager, project analyst, or engineering leader. Job activities may include, but are not limited to: • Interacting regularly with faculty, staff, and external customers • Planning, coordinating, and executing up to one event per month in Dayton as required by clients • Planning, coordinating, and executing up to one event per quarter in other areas of the continental United States as required by clients • Establishing and managing online registration process for events as required • Generating and maintaining website and social media advertising • Developing presentation materials as required • Attending meetings, training, conferences and workshops as appropriate to enhance job knowledge and skills to build relationships with partners and stakeholders • Providing basic office administrative support as required • Other duties as assigned • Candidate must be willing to work nights and weekends as necessary

Minimum Qualifications: |
• Associate’s degree in related field OR a High School diploma/GED with minimum of four years event coordination experience • At least two years of experience in event planning/coordination • Strong attention to detail • Creative thinker and problem solver with positive outlook and comfort with fast paced, changing, customer service-oriented environment • Ability to work independently • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Due to the nature of this position, U.S. citizenship is required • Ability to travel as required • Valid driver's license with a low risk driving record

Preferred Qualifications: |
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
• Bachelor’s degree in related field • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in event planning/coordination • Experience with event scheduling and management • Demonstrated expertise in digital marketing and social media campaigns

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
