The Senior Director of the Bombeck Family Learning Center (Bombeck Center) is a strategic leadership position with responsibility over program development, implementation, strategic planning, financial viability, talent management and improvement. The Senior Director collaborates with the Executive Director of the Center for Early Learning to oversee strategic directions, research and implementation of initiatives that impact the daily and global operations of the Bombeck Center. They serve on the Center for Early Learning Leadership Team and collaborates with the Bombeck Center leadership team to advance the work of the Bombeck Family Learning Center as a Demonstration School. With the Executive Director of the Center for Early Learning, the Senior Director serves as a liaison to the School of Education and Health Sciences. This position requires an understanding of national and state trends and policies that are likely to impact the field of early childhood so that the center can respond to needs in the form of contracts, grants and partnerships.

The Bombeck Family Learning Center strives to provide the very best care and educational experiences for infants, toddlers and preschoolers ages 6 weeks to 5 years old by working in partnership with families as the children grow and develop. The Center is affiliated with the University of Dayton School of Education and Health Sciences. The Bombeck Family Learning Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and holds a 5-star rating from the State of Ohio's Step Up to Quality rating system.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in childhood education or related field
• Seven (7) years of experience as an early childhood teacher or administrator
• Knowledge of and ability to support the implementation of the Bombeck Center's Curriculum or other science-focused assessment supported and integrated curriculum model for early childhood
• Experience as a program administrator for a child care facility
• Child Center Administration experience including skills in managing enrollment, marketing, supporting curriculum and overall programming, facilities, staffing, budget, parent and staff communication, conflict resolution and community-building
• Skilled with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• Demonstrated success in management of a Child Care center including strategic planning/direction setting, increased efficiencies, effective implementation of new initiatives.
• Experience with online learning in general and the Early Childhood Leadership and Advocacy program in particular
• Knowledge of and experience with ACCESS curriculum
• Knowledge of and experience with diverse children and families, especially those in poverty, English Language Learners and those with special learning needs
• Experience with higher education database systems like Banner and Cognos
• Affinity for the values central to the Marianist environment, including diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice
