Position Summary:

As an Administrative Associate, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the division's daily operations, ensuring seamless administrative processes, and facilitating effective communication across various departments. This position provides administrative support to the Vice President for Academic Research which encompasses a broad and diverse range of responsibilities. Requires effective communication and coordination with various levels within the University and with external universities, government agencies, economic development organizations and industry. The position is also responsible for the overall management of office operations, creation and implementation of operational procedures, assisting in policy development, and database management is required. In addition, this position is required to manage all the financial activities for the internal funding of the Vice President for Academic Research Office. It also provides executive administrative assistance as a Staff Member to the UD Board of Trustees' Committee on Research and Scholarship. The position is the focal point for all UD Research Council activities including proposal evaluation and cost tracking of seed grant awards. Finally, the position serves as the Research Compliance Coordinator providing support to the research compliance programs administered by the Office of Academic Research.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of four years of experience. The education requirement may be waived for an individual who possesses substantial demonstrated experience.
Knowledge of financial reporting methods and ability to collect and report financial information.
Proficiency in office management and ability to apply independent judgment, problem solving, and decision making in the performance of all duties.
Ability to interact with administrators as well as peers at the University and guests to the University.
Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Word for Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Google Workspace and Inteum.
High proficiency in the use and application of the English language both oral and written.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding subjects, records, and review of compliance issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Basic understanding of at least one area of research compliance (e.g., human subjects research, animal research, etc.).
Ability to promote inclusive excellence in the workplace.
