| Position Summary: |
This position is responsible for managing and maintaining Linux-based servers, ensuring system security, automating processes, and supporting users across a variety of technical needs. The role also involves developing, testing, and deploying software solutions that enhance system capabilities, streamline workflows, and support mission requirements. It’s a great fit for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with open source technologies, and contributing to both infrastructure stability and software innovation. The ideal candidate needs to be comfortable working in an agile environment and working with government and contractor representatives. This position will be supporting the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. |
| Minimum Qualifications: |
- Associates Degree OR Bachelors Degree OR 4+ years of related experience - A minimum of 5 years experience administering Ubuntu Linux, configuring Various SQL unstructured and vector databases, and with the Python programming language - Demonstrable experience with Docker and containerized services - DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) recognized computer security certification (Security+, Network+, etc.) - Experience with Direct Attached Storage (RAID) - General Linux server and network operations and maintenance - Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen

| Preferred Qualifications: |
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
- 8+ years of professional experience administering Linux systems in production or mission‑critical environments - Higher‑level DoD cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CASP+, CCSP) or additional DCWF‑aligned credentials - Advanced proficiency with SQL, NoSQL, and vector database technologies, including performance tuning, replication, and backup/restore strategies - Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms - Experience designing and securing containerized architectures, including CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments - Experience with enterprise storage solutions - Strong networking background - Experience collaborating in Agile or DevSecOps environments, including version control (Git) and issue‑tracking systems - Strong documentation skills and experience documenting work performed and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
