Position Summary:

The University of Dayton is seeking an Assistant Director of Annual Giving, Data Analysis and Operations who reports to the Associate Director of Annual Giving and is a key member of the Annual Giving team within University Advancement. This position will play an integral role in helping Annual Giving reach annual fundraising goals. Key functions of this position include data analysis and Annual Giving solicitation data management. This position will also provide leadership support and management of our Telefund program which is contracted with an external provider.

This position provides accurate, timely and comprehensive analysis and information, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of fundraising fundamentals, strategies, and trends in Annual Giving and data analysis. Works with large data sets and assists in creating analyses to support various aspects of annual fundraising projects.

This position will also assist with direct marketing strategy and execution for Annual Giving, perform data analysis for segmentation and review of all solicitations offering feedback to the associate director. Use data to create and share insights and support of the Annual Giving direct marketing plan. Pulls solicitation lists for mailings to the printer as well as lists for emails and digital ads.

A primary function of this role is the management of the student calling Telefund program which includes providing resources and guidance with an external provider. This includes meeting with the phone center manager to discuss progress and opportunities for improvement, as well as meet with management to discuss strategy and results of the program.

Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Analysis of Annual Giving data including donors, direct mail progress and audiences
- Review content for direct mail solicitations, proofing
- Use data lists to provide mailing lists to printer for solicitations
- Manage and execute operations for the Annual Giving team including maintaining external email address
- Partner with and assist records/gift processing with Annual Giving donors
- Partner with IT staff on data and information including project management and flow of information for Annual Giving data needs
- Serve as a liaison to IT and Advancement Services to maximize efficiencies and ensure proper data and records management
- Manage Annual Giving appeal coding and tracking for print and digital solicitations.
- Maintain data integrity and identification of alumni counts, and collaborate to provide alumni participation statistics and reports
- Manage key solicitation processes, in collaboration with Annual Giving staff, to devise ask amounts and personalized data on response cards, and other key functions that support the overall multi-channel fundraising program
- Produce and analyze various reports and data to demonstrate the effectiveness of Annual Giving solicitation strategies and communications, and recommend ways to enhance the effectiveness of future Annual Giving appeals
- Management of partnership with external vendor for Telefund program

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree
- Three years’ experience in Annual Giving or data analytics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to conduct assessments, analyze data and produce reports

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience using Raiser’s Edge
- Experience in higher education within Annual Giving, data analysis, Telefund management or a related field
- Strong data analytical skills with the ability to segment data
- Experience with Annual Giving data trends
- Experience in working with data for the purposes of fundraising
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions or recommendations
- Experience in working with people of diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively with colleagues from across the institution as well as external partners, while exercising discretion and diplomacy in all interactions
