Position Summary:

Well come grow with us in the Procurement & Payable Services department, where we exist to drive best practices and achieve economies of scale in the procurement of goods and services necessary for the effective and efficient operation of the University and to ensure our suppliers are paid in a timely manner. The Manager of Payable Services is responsible for managing the University's accounts payable function, purchasing card program administration and University travel and expense reimbursements. As a member of the Procurement & Payable Services team, the Manager of Payable Services is responsible for ensuring reimbursements and supplier payments are processed in compliance with requirements established by Federal regulations, State laws, University procedures and disbursed in a timely manner. The Manager of Payable Services is responsible for supervising the University Accounts Payable clerical team with a commitment to excellent customer service. The Manager Payable Services resolves complex payment and vendor issues daily and develops controls to assist with reconciliation and error mitigation. Finally, the Manager continually improves processes and procedures to pay for goods/services by working with internal and external stakeholders in the payment process. In addition to a deep understanding of the AP processes, the Manager Payable Services facilitates training of faculty and staff on Accounts Payable, Payment Card and Travel Reimbursement related subjects. This position reports directly to the Executive Director for procurement and payables services, the Manager has an indirect reporting relationship to the controller to ensure proper accounting and related internal controls.

Minimum Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field
-2 years of accounts payable or accounts receivable experience
-2 years supervisory experience
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Competency in Microsoft Excel and Word
-Ability to work with a high degree of detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

-5+ years of supervisory experience
-Demonstrated understanding of accounts payable-related tax issues such as Form 1099 issuance, tax withholding, and sales and use tax compliance
-Ability to work independently
-Excellent time management and organizational skills
-Experience working in Ellucian Banner or another ERP system
-Experience with Jaggaer eprocurement software
-Experience in higher education
-Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
