Position Summary:

Are you an experienced email and SMS marketer looking for a meaningful opportunity to make an impact? Join the University of Dayton's highly collaborative Enrollment Management Marketing and Communications team in a new role as Marketing Automation Strategist. Use your skills to analyze the student journey from prospect to enrollment and identify opportunities to improve personalization and automation while communicating the unique benefits and value of a UD education. As part of Enrollment Management Marketing and Communications, the Marketing Automation Strategist analyzes the team’s digital marketing processes and performance and recommends opportunities to automate or optimize communication throughout the enrollment cycle to improve the experience for prospective students and their families.

The ideal candidate will have a student-first mindset, with a strong understanding of marketing automation capabilities and technology (Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred) and the ability to lead projects and communicate effectively with leadership, internal clients, and technical and operations stakeholders. The Marketing Automation Strategist is a member of a creative team that collaborates closely to support the marketing needs of the Division of Enrollment Management, including producing compelling, innovative, results-oriented marketing to support developing new markets, recruitment and retention. This position will ensure the delivery of high-quality, high-impact marketing journeys that meet the specified requirements.

Position responsibilities include leading discovery and brainstorming sessions; translating strategy into tactical marketing requirements; collaborating with marketing and technical stakeholders to create, design and build journeys; supporting testing and validation activities; and analyzing performance to measure return on investment and optimize future campaigns. Candidates should have a strong understanding of best practices in email and SMS marketing.

The Marketing Automation Strategist reports to the Executive Director of Enrollment Management Marketing and Communications. A hybrid work arrangement is available.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree.
- At least three years of relevant experience with marketing automation focused on email and SMS communication.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with a solid portfolio of work that demonstrates skill in analysis, digital strategy and marketing/advertising.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or Technology.
- Three to five years of professional relevant experience with marketing automation, brand marketing strategy, digital and interactive projects, and traditional marketing communications.
- Experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar marketing automation tool(s).
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects from discovery through execution and optimization: leading discovery and brainstorming sessions; translating strategy into tactical marketing requirements; collaborating with internal clients, marketing and technical stakeholders; testing and validating deliverables; analyzing performance to measure return on investment; prioritizing improvements for future iterations.
- A commitment to inclusion and experience working with and communicating to socially and culturally diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to quickly establish rapport and lead through influence.
- Commitment to delivering the highest level of customer service.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.
