The Rapid Sustainment Division (RSD) increases mission readiness by rapidly identifying, applying and scaling technology essential to the operation and sustainment of the U.S. Air Force. The RSD located at Hangar 01 in Beavercreek, OH is the lead in bringing together a comprehensive network of new technological methods, processes, and techniques. The RSD Additive Manufacturing (AM) Program Office (AMPO) team develops an organic industrial base within the U.S. Air Force by utilizing additive technologies such as 3D printing to produce tooling, fixtures, support equipment, and aircraft parts.

This full time position supports various organizations within the UDRI Sustainment Technologies Transition Division. Support encompasses the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to provide cost analyses and subsequent recommendations on the use of new technology. The Cost Analyst is responsible for analyzing and interpreting cost drivers and other associated cost data based on their engineering knowledge. Also, the Cost Analyst makes comparative analyses, develops and audits cost models, and proposes changes to methodologies used in cost analysis activities. Additionally, the Cost Analyst works primarily in a team environment and must be comfortable in a challenging, collaborative, multi-tasking, dynamic, high-tempo, and deadline-intensive environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in the field of business, mathematics, engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in applying cost estimating methods and performing quantitative manufacturing process analysis.
• Experience documenting and analyzing historical cost data for use in developing baseline estimates.
• Ability to coordinate with engineers and project managers to determine methodology for estimating costs of new technology.
• Experience writing technical reports explaining cost analysis methodology, results, and recommendations for the use of new technology.
• Exceptional proficiency with MS Excel.
• Strong work ethic and a self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to multi-task in a team environment.
• Established analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work on government contracts.
• Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• Master's Degree in the field of business, mathematics, engineering, or related.
• Ability to estimate labor and material cost for sustainment cost reduction initiatives.
• Ability to draw analytical conclusions from studies and formulate recommendations on program approaches to management for decision-making purposes.
• Skill providing authoritative interpretation of DOD and USAF guidelines and regulations concerning production, cost, and economic analysis requirements and techniques.
• Proficient in data processing and analysis with familiarity using Tableau, Power BI, Salesforce, and/or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Formal training and/or certification in Lean and Six Sigma.
